Are you thinking of buying a home in “historic” Lincoln, New Mexico? Think twice before you stick your foot or neck in that trap! Are you thinking of visiting “historic” Lincoln to enjoy what is deceptively being labeled as the best preserved town in the west? Do yourself (and us Zone B residents!) a favor and go somewhere else. There’s better history in a great number of places. Lincoln is just a few tourist traps based around the legend (not the history) of Billy the Kid. There’s just not much history here, folks. And the price we pay for you to have a good touristy experience or have a little fun at “The Pageant” (celebrating Billy the Kid’s “escape” and murder of two deputies) is just too high. Far too high.
“You cannot negotiate with people who say what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is negotiable.” – JFK
The question for all who are involved with the Lincoln historical district is
Do you care more about the interests of your country or about your own financial interests? Are you confused about the “historicity” of Lincoln and think that because you’re “preserving history,” that’s more important than what the Constitution says?
We, the harassed homeowners of Lincoln, are limited (gagged) by the board and the county commission at their official meetings to only a few minutes but we will not be silenced!
If you have any contributions to add to this website, your material will be reviewed and added as quickly as possible.
“It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes. Distinctions in society will always exist under every just government. Equality of talents, of education, or of wealth cannot be produced by human institutions. In the full enjoyment of the gifts of Heaven and the fruits of superior industry, economy, and virtue, every man is equally entitled to protection by law; but when the laws undertake to add to these natural and just advantages artificial distinctions, to grant titles, gratuities, and exclusive privileges, to make the rich richer and the potent more powerful, the humble members of society—the farmers, mechanics, and laborers—who have neither the time nor the means of securing like favors to themselves, have a right to complain of the injustice of their Government.” - Andrew Jackson
Please bear with us in the construction of this website – we are still roughing in the details. Also the people working on this site are “the farmers, mechanics and laborers” who are yet again forced to defend ourselves from still yet another crop of idle, nosy, noisy rich and powerful people with more money than sense, with more obsession with trivial nonsense than possessing any real life of their own, with more intent to bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes than to preserve the things that made America great. It is a time-honored observation that when someone begins to devote their time and energy to keeping the poor “trash” and “gar-bage” out of their neighborhood, far too often that misguided zealot becomes nothing but the very “trash” and “gar-bage” he is trying to eliminate.
Lincoln Zone B Homeowners League is dedicated to:
- liberating Zone B from the control of the board,
- educating and protecting tyrannized Zone B homeowners in any way that we can, and
- being good neighbors who help one another instead of being spies, gossips, busy-bodies and turncoats who oppress and try to control their neighbors.

Past Board horror stories
Got a LHPB horror story to share? We know there are many LHPB horror stories out there that need to be told – for the sake of the victims and for preventing more people from being victimized by the board. Justice demands that the truth be known. The stories here have been submitted to this site in good faith (and confirmed with whatever records are available) as a responsible telling of the oppression and harassment homeowners have received from the Lincoln Historical Preservation Board. Some testimonials are published anonymously by the author’s request to limit reprisals from the Board and/or County Commission or for other valid reasons. Every possible precaution has been taken to provide a factual account of what the Board does to its victims.
